LaSalle College Vancouver hosted the EXPO_NOW fashion show

LaSalle College in Canada, hosted the EXPO_NOW fashion show at the Montreal Fashion & Design Festival on Friday, August 25. The “fashiontainment” showcased student creations from the International School of Fashion, Arts and Design in a contemporary interpretation of Expo 67 (a world fair held in Montreal in 1967). This unique happening was directed by Alix Dufresne and Andrew McNally, journalist, stylist and teacher at LaSalle College.

Starting with an act in sixties colors, the dancers quickly set the scene, bursting onto the stage and spray painting EXPO_NOW on the backdrop. Next, eight scenes lit up the main runway at Montreal’s Place des Festivals, presenting over one hundred looks.

The fashiontainment ended with a musical explosion. Rappers Random Recipe and Bad Nylon, along with Sarahmée, Donzelle, Hua Li, Jkyll and Tali, put their heart and soul into the finale, reprising the Expo 67 theme song. With EXPO_NOW, LaSalle College imagined what the exhibition might have looked like today, with a theme and vision that channeled the future.
