The University of Winnipeg is a dynamic campus and a downtown hub that connects people from diverse cultures and nurtures global citizens. We offer high-quality undergraduate and graduate programs including several that are unique in Western Canada, for example, a Bachelor of Arts in Human Rights, and a Master’s degree in Development Practice with a focus on Indigenous Development.

Our graduates value their educational experience, and the University of Winnipeg consistently ranks highly in national surveys for overall reputation, small class sizes, academic excellence and commitment to the environment.

Campus Living

UWinnipeg residences are a great option for International students. Our furnished dorms and apartments eliminate the need to find furniture for your apartment, and our meal plans ensure that you will have excellent food to eat. For information on our residence options please visit our website for prospective residents.

Homestay Option

The English Language Program also offers Homestay, a host family program for international students. Students who choose this option are matched with an English-speaking host family during their stay in Winnipeg. It is an opportunity to share in lively and friendly discussion in English, take part in fun and interesting local activities experiencing Canadian life and culture. In addition to an improved level of conversational English, many of our Homestay participants return to their homes at the end of the program with warm memories of new friendships and a wonderful Canadian family experience.
